The Farm “Under the Balkan” in the village of Vassil Levski, Central Bulgaria is one of the highlight in this article in the Swiss Bauern Zeiting. With Swiss support through the Swiss contribution to the enlarged EU in 2015, the Farm started processing on location and offer its dairy products directly to consumers. Opened 7 days a week to tourists and students, “Under the Balkan” serves as a demonstration center for cheese and yoghurt from rare local breeds.
The journalist from Bauern Zeiting was in the group of around 20 agricultural journalists from 12 countries in Europe, who visited several Bulgarian agricultural sites and met farmers and experts during the first official visit of journalists, members of the European Network of Agricultural Journalists (ENAJ) from 2 of 5 June. The visit was organized by the Association of the Agricultural Journalists in Bulgaria (AAJB) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Foods in the days around the Informal meeting of the Agriculture Ministers of the Member States during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
Foundation BIOSELENA facilitated several of the meetings, as well as the visit to the Farm “Under the Balkan”.
